    W pierwszej zwrotce, podmiot zastanawia się, “jak to jest znaleźć tą jedyną w życiu”. Wydaje się, jakby sam przez to przechodził – poznał kogoś wyjątkowego. Zdaje sobie sprawę z tego, że większość ludzi o kimś takim jedynie marzy – dlatego, jak twierdzi, “będzie czekał na prawdziwą rzecz”, gdyż jest mu trudno uwierzyć, że spotkało to właśnie jego. Wierzy jednak, że jeśli się nie myli, “uczucie” da mu znać w momencie, gdy się z tą osobą ponownie spotka. Wyobraża to sobie, jako scenę “wziętą prosto ze srebrnego ekranu”, jako historię tak romantyczną, że może się wydawać, że zdarzyć się ona może jedynie w filmach. Ale póki co, będzie “wstrzymywał oddech do samego końca”, do momentu, w którym “znajdzie tą jedyną”, z którą “spędzi wieczność”.

    W refrenie podmiot zastanawia się, dlaczego tak naprawdę szukamy tej wyjątkowej osoby. Ostatecznie wychodzi mu na to, że robimy to dlatego, że każdy chce “wiedzieć, że nie jest sam”, i “czuć się, jakby kogoś się obchodziło”. Każda z dwóch części refrenu kończy się pokrzepiającym stwierdzeniem – że dla naszego podmiotu naprawdę musi istnieć ktoś stworzony wyłącznie dla niego, ktoś, kto myśli tak jak on.

    Druga strofa opowiada o długo przez podmiot wyczekiwanym spotkaniu. Mimo, że odbywa się ono na zwykłej ulicy o blasku księżyca, dla bohatera jest to naprawdę wyjątkowe przeżycie. Boi się, że to wszystko to tylko złudzenie, Deja Vu. Jest tak szczęśliwym człowiekiem, że sam nie może uwierzyć w to, co go spotkało. Powoli zaczyna rozumieć, że nie mylił się co do drugiej osoby – czuje, że właśnie podczas tego spotkania uświadomił sobie, że nastąpił moment, w którym znalazł osobę na resztę życia.

    Trzecia zwrotka jest odezwą podmiotu do nas – abyśmy nie przestali “szukać tego diamentu”, nie poddawali się, gdyż “nigdy nie wiemy, kiedy się ukaże”. Według niego musimy być czujni, bo tak naprawdę każda osoba może być tą, na którą czekamy.
